Purpose and content of document:
The permit is required prior to harvesting and provides evidence that protected species would only be harvested according to prescribed guidelines. Protected species can be harvested upon approval granted by the State’s Forestry Department. Permits are issued by the Federal Ministry of Environment and the States’ Ministry of Natural Resources. While harvesting timber, permit holders must follow the requirements on area, species, and measures stipulated in the Harvest Permit. Contents of the harvesting permit include name and address of permit holder, permit code, harvesting location, species, harvesting locality area and quantity, number of trees to be harvested, time period of harvesting, royalties payable and Name of authorized industry.
