All private land purchased in Free Areas.
Holder of Document: Private Landowners, Forest Owners, Timber Harvesters
Signature required by:
The Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing
Key considerations when checking the doc:
Is the name of the owner the same as that on the harvesting permit?
Is the location on the certificate the same as indicated in the Timber Harvesting Permit?
Is the name the same as that shown in the business registration certificate?
Is the document stamped by the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing?
Purpose and content of document:
A Certificate of Occupancy is the evidence of right of use of lands in Free Areas for any purpose (including Forests) usually for 99 years. The document includes name of owner of Land or Forest land, Location of Land or Forest, Area/ Size of Land or Forest, date of the certificate.
