Purpose and content of document:
Before the approval of the forest management plan, a socio-economic and social impact study must be developed to take into account the communities living close to or within the concession and describe their customary rights and use of the forest resources as well as the impacts of the forest management activities planned on those communities.

Evidence limitations and weaknesses:
It does not amount to the concession holder's agreement with affected local communities. It does not replace a final Management plan that must be approved 5 years after granting the concession at the latest.
